Jacob Garrad

Chiropractor: M. Chiro (D.C.)

Jacob graduated from the AECC university college in Bournemouth with his master’s degree after five intense years. These years involved studying all aspects of the body, such as anatomy, pathophysiology, general medicine, neurology, exercise coaching, nutrition and many different forms of manual therapy.

Jacob believes in treating each patient as an individual with their own specific goals in mind. Good communication is crucial as part of each patient’s management and this will start at the initial assessment to help narrow down a likely diagnosis for the current issue, as well as during ongoing treatment to help make sure progress is being made and goals are being met.

Jacob incorporates many different treatment methods and will choose the most appropriate for each individual case, this means more emphasis can be placed on certain approaches depending on the nature of the issue but often a combination of different techniques will be used for the benefit of the patient, of course allowing personal preference from the patient.

A few of examples of Jacob’s techniques and approaches are as follows:

  • Joint mobilisation, manipulation or adjustments (Diversified technique)
  • Soft tissue treatment (massage, trigger point therapy, fascial mobilisation)
  • Dry needling (acupuncture)
  • Postural advice
  • Nerve mobilisation
  • Blocking (Orthopaedic and SOT)
  • Corrective exercise instruction and coaching

Common conditions that Jacob can help treat and manage include:
